University College London

Filmmaker & visual artist + director of Masterpiece Mommy

Dorothea is one of the most distinctive creative voices to come out of Young Guns. After UCL's Slade School of Fine Art, she pursued film studies in Denmark under Lars von Trier, Jørgen Leth, and Thomas Vinterberg. In 2024, she wrote and directed Masterpiece Mommy, a short musical film that premiered in competition at TIFF, received a European Film Award nomination, and is now shortlisted for the European Film Awards in 2026. Her second film premiered at TIFF 50. Her third is in pre-production. Alongside her film work, she's contributed photography to Vogue, Dazed, and LOVE and collaborated with brands from Prada to Hermès. She came to Young Guns to learn to see. She never stopped.

“YGS developed my intuitive thinking and gave me fundamentals that apply across disciplines and remain effective throughout my life.”
